Randers FC, a regular sub-top team in the Danish Superliga, struggles to match its competitors' playing budgets, prompting its owners to expand the ownership-group. A majority-sale could also happen.
“In the last seven years, we’ve had many talks with potential investors. Frankly, many come into this industry ill-prepared,” says chairman Svend Lynge Jørgensen.
Why it matters: It's rare to find debt-free clubs in European football, but Randers FC prides itself on financial sustainability. To stay competitive, however, they acknowledge the need for increased budgets.
