More Britons in the mist: Rwanda recoups Arsenal sponsorship in just a year

Rwanda has recouped its £30 million sponsorship of Arsenal in just a year.

Through increased exposure, people have changed their minds regarding Rwanda as a tourist destination.

The country has seen an increase of UK visitors following the deal.

Just one year into their three-year deal with Arsenal, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) says the sleeve sponsorship has paid off, according to SportsPro. 

The deal, worth a reported £30 million, was signed in May 2018 to promote Visit Rwanda, but was criticised in Rwanda, where people claimed the funds could have been better spent.
