Head of academy football Ramon Martinez has been promoted to the deputy director general position.

The head coach of Real Madrid's Juvenil B team, Manu Fernandez, will take over Martinez' prior duties.

Real Madrid have promoted their head of academy football Ramon Martinez to a position as deputy director general to "promote development" of the club's sporting activity.

"In order to promote development and maintain the leadership of our sports activity, Real Madrid have decided to strengthen the football area with the appointment of Ramón Martínez as deputy to the general director [Florentino Perez]," said Real Madrid in a statement. 

Martinez' position with the academy will be taken over by the head coach of the club's Juvenil B team, Manu Fernandez.
