The firm has held talks with FIFA and Real Madrid about funding the establishment of a new global football tournament, according to the Financial Times.

 In addition, Real Madrid have approached CVC and other corporate groups about creating new club league contests.

Private equity group CVC is in talks with FIFA and Real Madrid about funding the establishment of a new global football tournament, according to the Financial Times.

The firm's discussions with FIFA are believed to focus on acquiring the commercial rights to the new Club World Cup beginning in 2021, which is meant to feature some of the world's biggest football clubs. 

In addition to that, Real Madrid have approached CVC and other corporate groups about creating new club league contests.
