Premier League clubs wish to end early closure of transfer window

Several Premier League clubs are believed to wish for a return to the old transfer system, with the window closing at the same time across Europe.

At a Premier League chairmen's meeting on 12th September, the early closure of the English transfer window will be a talking point.

According to The Times, the Premier League clubs want to return to the old system of shutting the transfer window at the same time as the rest of Europe - an idea with growing support as Liverpool, among others, are believed to have joined the two Manchester clubs in wanting to scrap the current model.
