The Italian manager was sacked after Napoli's win against Genk in the Champions League.

Last year's Serie A runners-up have been out of form this season.

Off the pitch, Ancelotti has been held responsible by the club's president for a dispute between the club and the first-team players.

Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked by Napoli.

The decision was announced Tuesday night, following Napoli's 4-0 win at home against Genk in the Champions League - a victory that qualified the Italian side for the knockout stage.

However, it's been a tough season so far for Napoli, who have been struggling to find their form in the league.

Last season's Serie A runners-up sit in seventh place in the Italian top flight, trailing Atalanta in sixth by seven points.
