Michael Dell associate and prominent lender to Southampton and Derby County buys Danish first tier club

PA Images | MSD Capital has recently come into focus over a series of loans it provided to clubs such as Southampton, Derby County and Sunderland through its MSD UK Holdings branch.

MSD Capital's Robert Platek has led a full buyout of Danish Superliga club Sonderjyske.

The firm, whose founder is tech entrepreneur Michael Dell, has issued significant loans to English clubs such as Southampton, Derby County and Sunderland.

Of an undisclosed value, the deal involves a "significant financial consolidation" for the club who last season recorded a loss of €1.4 million.
