Media: UEFA and ECA propose completing European competitions in August
14 April 2020
The quarter-, semi-finals and finals could all be played within two weeks if the proposal is implemented.
Each tie would be decided over a single match at a neutral venue instead of the usual two-legged clashes.
UEFA and the European Club Association (ECA) are proposing to play the remaining matches in the Champions League and Europa League in August via a significantly altered format to accommodate the new coronavirus induced reality, according to Spanish radio Cadena SER.
It is still uncertain when domestic football will return throughout Europe, but UEFA and the ECA are targeting the completion of all matches before the end of July.
