Measuring the Ronaldo effect: Social Media growth outperform growth in revenue

How does the signing of a world star player like Cristiano Ronaldo financially influence a big club like Juventus? Analytics firm KPMG Football Benchmark has a few interesting findings.
The Portuguese star has not least been a huge success for Juventus on social media. The growth in number of followers is significant.
Juventus FC’s revenue is expected to rise up to 20 percent this season to €515 million, discounting player sales, due to an increase in matchday, broadcasting and commercial income following last year’s signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, according to estimates from analytics firm KPMG Football Benchmark.
