Match of the Week Conference League: Financial head-to-head Leicester City v AS Roma

José Mourinho’s AS Roma travels to England to meet Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester side in the first ever meeting between the two clubs, and the Foxes’ first ever European semi-final.

Domestically, Leicester fight for a top ten position with no outlook for European football next season, while AS Roma is in a close battle for a top five spot to secure a ticket to the Europa League. 

The Italian side finds themselves in a financial nightmare having some of the worst profitability and equity figures across all of Europe in 2021.

Leicester is highly dependent on broadcast income, which made up 81.6 per cent of their total revenue in 2020/2021, where most of it comes from the huge Premier League broadcast deals.
