Man City set to top UEFA’s €125 million Euro 2024 payments bonanza

Off The Pitch analysis shows that 197 clubs will share around €125 million under UEFA’s club payments scheme for allowing its players to participate in Euro 2024.

UEFA pays clubs between €3100 and €9300 per player per day under the scheme, with each participating player generating a minimum of 20 ‘playing’ days. Payments are understood to be up 7 per cent on Euro 2020.

Why it matters: The analysis gives a snapshot of the payments UEFA will unveil in Autumn. It shows that Man City top the payment table.

The perspective: Despite topping the payments table, the UEFA payment will cover City’s wage bill for just 64 hours based on its last published accounts. Barcelona’s payment covers its wages for an even shorter period.
