Luton Town have released a statement expressing their "extreme disappointment" as mall owner Capital & Regional has thrown a spanner in the works of the club's plans for redeveloping Newlands Park by applying for a judicial review.

According to Luton Today, the club received planning permission from the Luton Borough Council in March for the redevelopment, which is essential to the financing of a new stadium at Power Court.

A judge will now have to decide whether there is a case to be heard, which could potentially take up to six weeks.
