Lyon's Q3 earnings drop as pandemic all but certain to cause steep additional losses
PA Images | Income from events rose by 24 per cent to €6.5 million as the club continue to grow their non-matchday revenue stream, but the French government's prohibition of larger events has meant the cancellation of a series of arrangements, including the music festival Felyn, Monster Jam and a Paul McCartney concert.
The French club's revenue dropped by €9.8 million in the first three quarters of the season due to the coronavirus crisis.
Facing no European football next season, cancellation of non-matchday events and general uncertainty, Lyon's income looks certain to fall steeply in the coming year.
Lyon expect to lose out on a total of €50 million in income this season due to the crisis.
The club have not reiterated their projected sponsorship income for next season.
