The top-tier of French football is targeting international growth and increased revenues through a plan that includes digital and physical initiatives.
The league has four key territories, including China and the US, where it looks to differentiate itself from rival competitions, including the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A and Bundesliga.
"It's trying to find a way to go from the 'nice to have' to the 'must have'," says Yoann Godin, director of international development at the LFP.
The "Messi effect" has seen an increase in social media following but Godin is conscious of placing too much emphasis on individual players.
