Interview: “What I don't understand is the position of the clubs when they say they support these new regulations”

The European Football Agents Association (EFAA) has issued a court summons in the Netherlands to FIFA over new agent regulations. Its board member Bruno Satin tells us why they fight.
Satin argues that FIFA’s unwillingness to heed earlier advice from agents against previous deregulation of their industry has bred the current conflict.
Why it matters: In January FIFA issued the most sweeping changes to the agents business in a generation. Agents unions like the EFAA say FIFA didn’t consult, don’t listen and are going to destroy the industry.
The perspective: The agent industry is characterized by mega deals, like that which saw Mina Raiola earn £41 million for Paul Pogba’s transfer to Man Utd. But the EFAA say the average wage of an agent is €30,000, falling, and likely to fall further.
