Interview with Millwall’s CEO: "As a football club, if you don’t aspire to be at the top of your game and aspire to be in the Premier League what are you doing?"
- Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh is determined to develop a sustainable model. The growth needs to be carefully choreographed, with desire to win promotion to the Premier League tempered by concerns of not running too fast, too soon.
- Millwall are seeking a 250-year lease to redevelop ground. "Once that is renegotiated, that opens up the doors for us to finalise our development partner, who is ready go."
- The club plan for a gradual build-out to a 34,000-capacity stadium. "If we're in the Premier league, and if we stay there, if we have the capacity requirements, we can take it up to 34,000, but we're not going to go there overnight," says Kavanagh.
