Interview: Governing bodies could force English clubs to change their shaky business models

Chris Winn from UCFB, believes there are no quick fixes to turn EFL clubs into healthy, sustainable businesses, but the current coronavirus crisis offers a window of opportunity to owners and clubs to alter their business models.

The former co-author of the Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance believes that a salary cap could be taken into serious consideration.

The current Profitability and Sustainability regulation doesn't work as clubs have found ways around it.

Club owners need to look at the data and realise that spending money on wages won't necessarily get a club promoted. Other strategies can be pursued.
