Ineos targeted several Premier League clubs before buying Nice in Ligue 1

Ineos looked at a lot of clubs in the Premier League before buying Nice last month.

The high valuation of the Premier League clubs made it difficult for Ineos to rationalise a purchase of an English club.

Before Ineos bought OGC Nice in the French Ligue 1 last month, the company looked at "a lot of clubs" in the Premier League.

Chelsea and Newcastle were among the clubs considered by Ineos, the head of the company's football division, Bob Ratcliffe, told BBC Radio Five according to the Daily Mail.
