Brighton sacks Hughton: “This has been one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make as chairman”

Brighton chairman Tony Bloom confirms Monday the club have chosen to fire manager Chris Hughton.
The news comes a day after the end of the Premier League season and is due to poor results, according to the chairman.

Brighton succeeded in staying in the Premier League for their second year ever, but even so the club have decided to kick out Chris Hughton, who has served as manager for the last four and a half years.
“Undoubtedly, this has been one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make as chairman of Brighton & Hove Albion, but ultimately one I have made due to how we struggled in the second half of the season,” said Brighton’s chairman Tony Bloom in a statement.
