Former Wanderers’ star calls for review of the ‘fit and proper person test’

Matty Taylor wants the FA to review the fit and proper person test after Bolton’s chaos. 

It’s a stark reminder of how quickly things can change if a football club is run badly, says the former Bolton-midfielder.

Bolton Wanderers have been relegated from the Championship and will start off next season in League One with a 12-point deduction after a shambolic season. The club have failed to pay wages to their players and staff, and had to cancel a game versus Brentford, who eventually got the three points. 

The club have since been put into administration, but the former Bolton midfielder Matty Taylor believes it all could have been avoided.
