Former Norwich and Huddersfield sporting director Stuart Webber looks to disrupt football staff recruitment with new venture

IMAGO | Stuart Webber has launched a new agency along with Leigh Bromby and Darius Henderson. The trio aim to disrupt the current landscape of staff recruitment.

One of the most highly regarded sporting directors in the English game has joined up with Leigh Bromby, who he worked with at Huddersfield Town, and former player turned agent Darius Henderson, to launch a new football recruitment and consultancy firm.

The trio see an opportunity to leverage their combined 80 years of experience in football and offer a different approach to recruitment for roles ranging from academy manager to performance chef, Webber says.

Why it matters: With the expansion of academy and women’s football a key driver, demand for new roles across the game is constantly growing, placing increasing pressure on clubs to find suitable candidates.

The perspective: Getting recruitment right can be a major challenge, in particular for new owners and especially those from overseas who may not be as familiar with football as other sports.

Since leaving his role as sporting director at Norwich City in April 2024, Stuart Webber has had an extended break from working full-time in football.

The Welshman, who presided over two Premier League promotions at Carrow Road while generating over £150 million in player trading, has spent time speaking with several young players about how they view the future of the game, worked as a consultant for an MLS club, and has visited the Red Bull
