Football’s rulers move to "kill" breakaway super league

Photo: PA Images Any player or club involved in a European "Super League" would not be allowed to participate in any competition organised by FIFA or the six confederations, football's main bodies have warned in a rare, joint statement.

Sources across European football have told that plans for a ‘Super League’ operating outside UEFA’s jurisdiction had reached such an advanced stage that the European governing body was “genuinely worried” and that it wanted them “dead”.
