The club's pre-tax profit reached almost €50 million last season thanks to a profit on player sales of €83.2 million.

Rising wages and amortisation offset an uptick in revenue, meaning Napoli's operating loss for the second year in a row exceeded €30 million.

Their debt rose by around €20 million.

After a somewhat tumultuous start to the domestic season, Napoli on Wednesday could celebrate their first title in six years when they beat Juventus 4-2 on penalties to win the Coppa Italia under the leadership of former AC Milan hardman Gennaro Gattuso.

But the celebrations don't stop there. The club have finally published their financial results for last season, in which they revealed a pre-tax profit of €47.8 million - thereby joining just a few select Italian clubs in recording a positive net result.
