Both teams lost their first game of the season. Fulham 1-0 away at Barnsley and Blackburn 2-1 at home versus newly promoted Charlton.

Following their relegation from the Premier League, Fulham have tried to reduce their wages, bidding farewell to several big names, including Ryan Babel, Jean Michael Seri and World Cup-winner André Schürrle.

Statistics indicate it will be a match between two poor defences. The home team conceded 81 goals last season (the most in the Premier League) while Rovers have conceded 31 goals in their 21 Championship games in 2019.
