Financial head-to-head Borussia Dortmund v Schalke 04

Schalke are seven matches without a win in the German top flight while Dortmund have won the past four fixtures, but the circumstances likely means form prior to the league's suspension will bear little significance.

In the 2018/19 season, Dortmund's wage bill stood at €205.1 million while Schalke's reached €123.8 million. In terms of league position, 14 points separate Schalke in sixth from Dortmund in second.

Dortmund are by far the bigger club financially but in terms of generating income per fan Schalke are ahead of their rival.
