Chelsea were hit with a two-window transfer ban by FIFA earlier this year, meaning that the Blues cannot register any new players who are above the age of 16.

FIFA imposed the transfer ban due to the club breaching several rules regarding the registration of youth players. Chelsea decided to appeal the verdict but are still awaiting a date for their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). In the meantime, FIFA has disclosed its reasoning behind the transfer ban.
