Elche CF chief executive on the plan to build a sustainable club

Patricia Rodríguez Barrios has a strategic plan focused on maximising revenues from the stadium and internationalisation.

The club from the Alicante region will see its income increase five-fold this season after being promoted to LaLiga. In 2015 the club was relegated from La Liga due to unpaid debt.

"We are in a healthy financial situation – we are planning to invest and develop the different business areas of the club," Rodríguez tells offthepitch.com.

The only female CEO in LaLiga, she wants to blaze a trail for others: "We need more women in the top leadership positions in sport".
