Barcelona reiterate the measures follow the formal labour regulations and say the objective is to return to normal as soon as possible.

Barcelona have adopted measures to temporarily reduce the wages of their players and staff to minimise the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

A series of clubs have already implemented similar cost-cutting strategies in order to offset the economic fallout of the coronavirus situation. In Spain the number of cases is growing rapidly and LaLiga has been postponed indefinitely.
