We said before the restart that games without fans shouldn't become the norm," said FC Cologne's chief executive, Alexander Wehrle.

Alexander Wehrle, who is also on the board of the German Football League (DFL), says at least partial readmission is likely to be possible.

The DFL, however, would have to expand its hygiene regulations.

Spectators could return to the Bundesliga later this year, at least if FC Cologne's chief executive, Alexander Wehrle, is to be believed.

Speaking to German newspaper Kölner Stadtanzeiger, Wehrle, who is also on the board of the German Football League (DFL), said he did not consider it "impossible" that fans would be back before the end of the year.
