Chelsea testing market for new shirt sponsor

Photo: Getty Images Since 2014, Chelsea's turnover has increased by almost 40 per cent to £443.4 million, while their commercial income has risen to £165.3 million from 108.9 million.

The club are in the process of negotiating with their existing shirt sponsor, Yokohama Rubber, over extending their current deal, according to the Athletic.

Entering the final 12 months of their current deal with Yokohama, Chelsea have been testing the market to see if anyone could provide a better deal than the Japanese company.

This season could be Yokohama Rubber's last as Chelsea's shirt sponsor as the club seek to test the market for a better deal than the one they have with the Japanese company, according to the Athletic. 

The club's £200 million deal with Yokohama was the second biggest in the league behind Manchester United's deal with General Motors.
