Chelsea have been looking to expand Stamford Bridge for quite a while but are yet to find a solution that works within their budget at the current location.

With rumours of Roman Abramovich willing to sell the club, the project has been put on hold, but the design team working on the expansion are attempting to revive the project by slashing costs by as much as £500 million, according to New Civil Engineer.

To cut the costs, they are now looking at alternative sites for a new stadium, with club bosses believed to be open to the idea of a new location.
