Charlton Athletic have confirmed businessman Paul Elliott has taken over Tahnoon Nimer's East Street Investments, the company that owns the club.

Controversial Nimer earlier this week in a post on Instagram said he had handed over control of the club to an unnamed consortium, which has now been revealed.

Nimer, who officially took over the club in January for £1 million, had recently signalled a wish to sell the club after a fallout with two of the club's directors, Matt Southall and Jonathan Heller, who have since been removed from the board.
