Bury supporters end their legal fight to stop winding-up petition as potential buyer stands back

A prospective buyer of Bury FC has withdrawn from further discussions following due diligence. 

The supporters' group Forever Bury will not continue its legal fight to stop the HMRC winding-up petition.

Any hope of saving Bury Football Club is slowly crumbling away, the most recent blow coming as the supporters' group Forever Bury announced it will not continue its legal fight to stop the HMRC winding-up petition. 

The latest attempt to save the club has fallen through following due diligence on the part of the interested party, ending the prospective buyer's interest, according to Sky Sports. 

We believe there is no longer adequate evidence to suggest a meaningful case could be made.
