Britain’s richest man is on the brink of taking over a Ligue 1 side

Jim Ratcliffe has been negotiating with a Ligue 1 side for several months and a takeover deal is near completion.

Ratcliffe already owns a Swiss football team and is also involved in cycling and sailing.

Britain’s richest man, Jim Ratcliffe, is now very close to being the owner of French side OGC Nice, according to The Times.

The founder of INEOS has been in talks with the Ligue 1 side for several months. In February the deal appeared to crash as the current owner, Chien Lee, wasn’t satisfied with a £77 million offer.
