Bolton Wanderers hire Macclesfield DOF as head of football operations

Tobias Phoenix has been brought in to oversee the club's overarching football strategy.

Bolton were sold last year after a lengthy period of financial uncertainty.

As part of the process of getting the club back on their feet, Bolton Wanderers have hired the director of football at Macclesfield, Tobias Phoenix, as their new head of football operations. 

The club, currently at the bottom of League One, were relegated from the Championship last season and spent the first half of 2019 fighting to save themselves from insolvency after a period of financial instability.
