Atletico Madrid to launch Canadian Premier League club
Getty Images | To make way for the club, the Canadian Premier League has been expanded from seven to eight teams.
The Spanish club have been awarded a licence for the country's top flight and will launch a club based in Ottawa, Canada's capital.
Despite having to establish the club from scratch, Atletico's new franchise will begin play in April this year.
