Aston Villa have announced Mark Harrison as the club’s new academy manager. The Villains’ CEO, Christian Purslow, lured Harrison away from their local rivals, West Bromwich Albion, where he had been in charge of the academy for the past 13 years.

"Aston Villa is a football club steeped in a rich tradition of producing its own players," Purslow said in a statement on the club’s website.

"Mark’s appointment is another cornerstone of the process and journey that we set out upon last summer."
