Aston Villa extend with Dean Smith on new four-year contract

Photo: Getty Images Aston Villa have agreed to extend the contract of their head coach, Dean Smith, for a further four years - until the end of the 2022/23 season.

After leading the club back to the Premier League in his first season as head coach, Dean Smith has taken Aston Villa to 15th place so far this season.

Smith has achieved an average of 1.72 points per match during his 54 games in charge.

After a successful first year and a half with the club, Aston Villa have agreed to extend the contract of their head coach, Dean Smith, for a further four years - until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Smith, who joined the club in 2018, led Aston Villa back to the Premier League in his first season and has overseen gradual but continuous improvement for the team this season.
