Alex Neil reiterates commitment to Preston as club report Stoke over illegal approach
Getty Images | According to the BBC, Neil has a compensation clause in his contract that would entitle Preston to more than £3 million if he departs the club.
The Preston manager signed a contract with the club earlier this year, but the press has been speculating that he was a favourite to join Stoke after they sacked Nathan Jones last week.
This weekend, the club said that under no circumstances would Stoke be allowed to talk to Neil and that they had reported the club to the EFL over an illegal approach of the sought-after manager.
