Fernando Roig, the billionaire owner and president of the LaLiga club, exclusively tells Off The Pitch the strategy behind the latest reform of Villarreal's stadium.

The €35 million project includes construction of a new stand, stadium roof and VIP spaces, but seating capacity will remain the same.

Ready for 100th anniversary

Works began at the conclusion of last season and will be finished at the end of December. Villarreal will play the first match in their newly-renovated stadium between December 29 and 31, after the World Cup in Qatar, and in time for the club's centenary in 2023.
