Fresh concerns have been raised about the financial health of Standard Liege, the Belgian club owned by the American investment firm 777 Partners, after it posted a loss of €20.3 million for the 2022/23 financial year.

The deficit follows a similar result in 2021/22, when the loss amounted to €20.2 million. The latest accounts, published by Belgium’s national bank, cover the first full financial year under the ownership of 777 Partners, who acquired 100 per cent of the club in March
