Plenty of passion talk, but questions remain over how Pace will grow the already overperforming club. ALK Capital started looking at Championship clubs but fell in love with Burnley.

The new club owner will spend 80 per cent of his future time in Burnley – the rest in New York and London.

American would not be drawn on club’s ownership structure, nor how highly leveraged his purchase £170 million was.

Burnley’s new owner chairman Alan Pace says the “passion, operating structure and opportunity for growth” at Turf Moor were the key ingredients behind last week’s £170 million purchase of the club and has spoken of his desire to increase the use of data and analytics to elevate the Lancashire club.

However the 53-year-old American refused to be drawn on how the purchase of the club has been funded, nor give details about how he would seek to increase revenue at an already overperforming club in English football’s super competitive north west heartlands.
