Everton have released their accounts for the 2021/22 financial year, one week on from the announcement by the Premier League that it had charged the club with a breach of its financial fair play rules.

The Premier League said the charge relates to the 2021/22 season and that it has referred the case to an independent commission, but it did not reveal any details of the alleged breach. Everton, who said it “strongly contests the allegation of non-compliance”, reported a loss of £44.7
