Match of the Week Serie A: Financial head-to-head Inter v AC Milan

This weekend brings one of the biggest showdowns in Italian football, as Inter and AC Milan clash at their shared stadium, San Siro. With 19 and 18 league titles respectively, the two clubs are the second and third most successful clubs in Italy.

In the last five years, Inter have enjoyed greater success than their city rivals, and off the pitch, the club has been the bigger brother in terms of generating revenue.

Both clubs have been severely in the red during the past five seasons, and they have accumulated after-tax losses of more than €1 billion combined.

In Saturday’s derby, Inter can go seven points clear of the Rossoneri in their bid to lift back-to-back league titles, with Milan third and level on points with second-placed Napoli.
