Match of the Week Premier League: Financial head-to-head Liverpool v Leeds United

Liverpool will host Leeds United this weekend in a clash between two teams that are looking to regain momentum in the league.

The Reds will attempt to rebound from the 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest whereas Leeds seek to end a streak of four consecutive EPL losses.

In the financials, Liverpool unsurprisingly trumps Leeds on most measures. United have increased their turnover massively since their promotion, but it is still dwarfed by Liverpool's numbers.

Notably, however, Leeds had a larger net transfer spend than Liverpool in both 2019/20 and 2020/21 which attests to their big ambitions.
