Defending Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille have had a bad start to the domestic season, currently 13 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who are seven points clear at the top of the table.

Financially, Lille are lagging even further behind PSG. The Parisian's total turnover is six times bigger and on the commercial side, the gap is mindblowing. In 2019-20, PSG's reported commercial income stood at €286m compared to Lille's €12m.

Lille's profitability has been challenged for many years with significant losses. However, the club posted a profit in 2019/20 despite the league being cancelled in April.

The opposite happend to PSG. After healthy profits, the club revealed a massive €125 million loss.
