Match of the Week Championship Play-Off Final : Financial head-to-head Coventry City v Luton Town

This year's Championship playoff final between Coventry and Luton Town has caught many by surprise as both clubs were playing in League Two just five seasons ago.

Luton have never played in the modern Premier League, and Coventry looks to reclaim top-flight football since their last appearance in 2001.

Both teams would need significant wage bill increases if promoted, as the lowest wage bill in the 2022 Premier League (Brentford's €80.5 million) far surpasses Coventry and Luton's current wage bills in the €20 million region.

Although both teams experienced increasing turnovers in 2022, their profit/loss statements have shown a downward trend over the past three years.
