Increased loss at Blackburn Rovers despite promotion to the Championship

Getty Images | According to the club's owners, significant changes to the playing squad are one of the main causes for the increased loss.

Despite promotion to the Championship in 2018, and an increased turnover as a result, Blackburn's bottom line has not improved.

Along with the promotion, the club's 2019 fiscal brought about rising costs, resulting in a bigger loss for the year.

A leading cause is the expense of wages and salaries, where Blackburn's turnover-to-wage ratio has remained consistent at 154 per cent.
