With QPR and Fulham consigned to the Championship, it is time for the ‘other’ West London derby. When Chelsea travel the short distance to Brentford on Saturday it will be the first time the two clubs have met in the top flight for 75 years.

Brentford’s new home - the Brentford Community Stadium - is a multipurpose stadium that they share with London Irish rugby union club.

Chelsea were forerunners of this idea, with Stamford Bridge hosting numerous other sports, including cricket, rugby union, speedway, greyhound racing, baseball and American football.

The size of the two clubs’ revenues is indicative of the disparity between the Premier League and Championship. In their last results Chelsea earned €465 million in revenues - 29 times what pre-promotion Brentford cashed.
