Comparing the financials of these two clubs reveal AZ Alkmaar's away win over Napoli in the opposite fixture was perhaps an even greater upset beneath the surface.

Napoli's turnover at €216.6 million in 2018/19 stood at about eight times that of AZ Alkmaar's €26.8 million last season.

While AZ Alkmaar spent €19.5 million in wages, Napoli spent more than six times that with player salaries of €135.1 million.
